Your records may be worth more than the work they describe.

AI developers need real examples of how work gets done, from the first request to the result. Established industrial firms hold years of exactly that, often without knowing it can be licensed.

What a licence is

A data licence gives a buyer permission to use a defined set of records for a defined purpose, for a set period, under agreed terms. It is not a sale of your business or of the data itself. You keep ownership, and you approve the scope before anything moves.

What AI developers do with your records.

Licences are time-limited and scoped. What happens to the data when a licence ends is written into the contract before you sign.

What affects the value

There is no standard price, and we don't quote one on the first call. A buyer looks at four things.

Years of history
Longer, unbroken records show how work changed over time.
Systems of record
ERP, maintenance and service systems keep the request, the work and the outcome together.
Record types
Work orders, inspections, quotes and drawings each show a different kind of decision.
Buyer fit
Records are worth most to a buyer whose model needs your trade and your language.

Questions

Scope, years of history, the systems the records come from, how consistently they were kept, and how well they fit a buyer's use. The buyer makes any offer after its own review.

It is set per licence, for example training, fine-tuning or testing a model, and agreed with you before you sign.

Sometimes. Whether a licence is exclusive and whether records can be licensed again is part of the agreement with the buyer. A signed licence does not guarantee further sales.

No. Long histories in older ERP, maintenance or service systems are often exactly what buyers look for. Mention the systems and years on the call.
